McLaren W1
The McLaren W1 is the new hybrid hypercar from the British marque, unveiled in October 2024 to celebrate the 50ᵗʰ anniversary of McLaren’s first Formula 1 world title. Heir to the legendary P1 and F1, it embodies the very essence of Woking’s engineering prowess, blending bold design, F1-derived technology, and radical performance. Limited to just 399 units—all of which were swiftly reserved—it stands as the most powerful and exclusive McLaren ever built.

The McLaren W1 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine (MHP-8) paired with a radial-flux electric module, delivering a combined output of 1,275 horsepower and 1,340 Nm of torque. This hybrid configuration enables it to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.8 seconds, and reach a top speed of around 350 km/h. Its next-generation carbon-fiber monocoque chassis (MCLA – McLaren Carbon Lightweight Architecture) provides exceptional rigidity while keeping weight under control, key to agility and ultimate performance.
On the aerodynamic side, the W1 features an “Active Long Tail” rear wing generating up to 1,000 kg of downforce, complemented by sculpted air intakes and an optimized diffuser directly inspired by Formula 1. Carbon-ceramic brakes with 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rears, combined with Pirelli Trofeo RS tires, ensure ferocious braking power and extreme grip. Ultra-lightweight wheels (19 inches at the front, 20 at the rear) further reduce unsprung mass.
Inside, the cabin is designed as a true racing cockpit: seats integrated into the monocoque to maximize rigidity and driving position, a compact F1-inspired steering wheel, innovative materials such as lightweight yet durable “InnoKnit,” and a fully customizable digital display. Every detail is driver-oriented, with minimalist yet radically effective ergonomics.
The 2026 McLaren W1 is more than just a hypercar: it is a technological showcase and a manifesto for McLaren’s future. Combining cutting-edge hybrid performance, futuristic design, and extreme exclusivity (only 399 units), it already stands as one of the most significant creations in the history of supercars.
