An exclusive collection of exceptional vehicles<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region has been the birthplace of many automotive pioneers: nearly 150 brands originated here. In fact, it was in Lyon that the very first three-stroke combustion engine car was invented: in 1885, Claude Mieusset developed this new type of “horseless” carriage. Even though their names are more widely known today, the Germans Daimler and Benz would not do the same until a year later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marius Berliet designed his first car in Lyon in 1895, and many others followed suit: Pilain, La Buire, Audibert and Lavirotte, Rochet-Schneider, Cottin-Desgouttes… At that time, it was competition that drove sales: racetracks multiplied, and automobiles became increasingly high-performing. From touring vehicles to luxury cars, from sports sedans to racing machines, thousands of cars, buses, and trucks rolled out of Lyon’s factories throughout automotive history. Bugatti even named its model type 35 “Grand Prix de Lyon”! While the passion for automobiles was born in France and Europe, today it is celebrated all over the world: numerous venues are dedicated to telling its story, sharing it, and passing it on.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n

The Coligny Car Museum is the story of two friends, two enthusiasts who embarked on a daring venture: to establish the second private automobile museum in the Rh\u00f4ne-Alpes region, to celebrate the automobile as it shines in their eyes, through exceptionally rare vehicles with unique histories and outstanding performances. That was 6 years ago…<\/p>\n

After the initial idea, the sketches, then the first steps and unexpected challenges, the great discoveries, the brief moments of doubt, the prolonged periods of rejoicing, and finally the realization, the crowning achievement, the joy of having contributed to something beautiful, something grand, a project that unites, a project of true enthusiasts.<\/p>\n \n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n
